Hello. I’m Anna.
I am many things. Christian, dancer, writer. Artist, photographer, shepherdess. Cat-mom. Nerd. Dreamer.
I live in Vermont, right in the middle of all this beauty. I am proud to be a Vermonter, and blessed to live near enough to my parents’ farm (where I grew up) to still call it home, even though it’s technically no longer my house.
My identity is bound closely to the place I live and the lifestyle I was raised in. My soul is happiest in the woods or fields, and looking out over the mountains is like catching a glimpse through the veil to see heaven. It is my hope to live as much of my life as I can in these Green Mountains. They are wonderful.
This blog contains a mix of things. There are a lot of words about dance, which is my favorite language and for which I have a passionate, and sometimes dysfunctional, love. There are also a lot of words about Vermont, nature, and small agriculture. These things are imperative in my life, and it’s hard for me to talk about anything without coming, eventually, back to them. I apologize in advance for how many times I will describe the mountains. Finally, you’ll find scraps of my other interests here, artistic and otherwise: photography (mostly of the mountains); poetry (mostly bad); literature (mostly YA fantasy and Wendell Berry); and thoughts about faith, stewardship, and Vikings.
I am an indecisive middle-child, and have spent many years running from one horizon to the other and back again, searching for who I am and how I want to be in this world. I have learned that writing shows me the truth of myself, and so I do, I write my heart and my joy and my mountains, and I hope that through the words a path will be laid.
Will you walk with me?
