We went to the coast of Maine a few weeks ago. I meant to post much sooner about it, but I got busy with the wedding (which, as of right now, IS DONE. No more editing. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus.). So, yea. Better late than never. Suffice it to say the vacation was lovely, and I took many photos. I got up at 4:15 our last morning there, to photograph the sunrise. It was lovely, and the photos don’t do it justice at all. I don’t get to see many sunrises, living on the West side of a mountain as I do. …But honestly, I think sunsets are better. I am with Eomer, in the Morning versus Evening debate. I give my greatest love to the Evening.
This is one of my favorites. The color of the sky was incredibly intense.
This photo doesn’t show the true colors of the sky. It is rather under-exposed (but I like it ’cause the SUN RAYS).
This one also doesn’t show the true colors. When I tried to tell Lightroom the correct whiteballance to use, it ended up a bit more blue than 4:30am skies generally are. But it’s pretty so I left it. It looks like a dream =)
Looking across the lagoon towards the houses, the shore, the ocean, and the sun. The tidal flats are completely under water – the tide was quite high. When it goes out, all the water in this photo drains away, revealing the greenest long grass you’ll ever see, and the brownest mud.
This one is cool.
