Slaughter Day [and some kinda graphic images]

 

Today was meat bird slaughter day. It was so fun to photograph. O_O Like. Artistic-ness all over the place, right? If I had had a more macro lens, I could have done some EPIC abstract work. <3

y’all can’t sue me if my pictures scar you for life. I warned you. =P They really aren’t that bad though. It’s just blood. We all have a couple gallons of that inside us anyhow. When you live on a farm, blood is normal. As is death, and being the bringer of death. It’s what happens, and it’s life. And it’s called dinner too, in this instance. =P

And it makes up for it in the spring, when new life is bursting out all over the place. Blood isn’t always bad =)

After being run through the plucker. I tried to get some shots of them being tossed around in that thing, but it wasn’t bright enough for me to have a fast enough shutter speed. *needs better camera* -_-

Bye bye feet. If Tess was still here, we would save them and put them in the freezer and give them to her as a treat in the summer.

Yea. The grossest part is pulling the naked chickens out of the slaughter guy’s bucket and putting it into ours…o_O

They sink. Apparently they haven’t been dead long enough to float yet. *grins*

After clean up. Use the feathers to wipe the blood off the nice white board…why they would choose white, I have no idea…=P
